Ashlee King, DVM
Dr. Ashlee King grew up in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee, surrounded by her family's cows and goats. From early on, she had a deep love and compassion for all animals. She received her bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2015. While attending school there, she wrestled with her decision of what to choose as a career. During one summer at home, she discovered a sick sheep on the farm, which she researched and treated on her own. This sparked an interest in the veterinary profession. Soon after, she discovered an organization called Christian Veterinary Mission who uses the veterinary profession to share God's love. She knew then that she had found her true calling. Ashlee graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2020 with a desire to eventually form a Christian-centered house call veterinary practice. After two years as an associate veterinarian, she made the decision to establish Salt and Light House Call Veterinarian.

Dr. Ashlee has two Australian cattle dogs, Nellie and Sadie. She worships and grows in Christ at Mt. Joy Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Additionally, she serves on a Christian Veterinary Mission team on the Navajo reservation in Sanders, Arizona, once a year. In her free time, Ashlee enjoys spending time with friends and family, working on her family's Christmas tree farm, hiking, fishing and crafting.
